Solar City are the best solar installers in the Midlands and one of the oldest established solar PV companies in the UK. Based in Solihull, we are a family-run Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) installer with TrustMark and RECC membership. We have been installing solar panels since 2005, and have operated under the Solar City name since the company was founded in 2010.

Directors Chris and David Hammond have been installing solar panels since 2005, long before domestic solar was mainstream. Chris is one of the most highly respected industry experts in Midlands solar. The company’s electrical roots date back to 1983.

Who we are

Unlike national sales companies, Solar City UK puts technical expertise before sales targets. There are no salespeople on the doorstep and no call-centre hard sell. Homeowners, developers and commercial clients deal directly with experienced designers and installers who will still be here after the scaffold comes down.

We provide a complete solar installation service throughout the Midlands and surrounding areas: residential roof-mounted and in-roof systems, new-build integration, battery storage and EV charging where appropriate, plus repair and maintenance for systems we install and for existing arrays.
